The Shilshole clubhouse is a floating clubhouse moored at Shilshole Bay Marina and is the club's primary clubhouse. Its address is 7755 Seaview Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117. CYC Seattle organizes many sailboat races in the Seattle area each year, and its members have won many local, national, and world championship sailing events. CYC Seattle has several one-design racing fleets associated with it, including: Thistle fleet #61, Snipe fleet 444, J/24, Thunderbird, San Juan 24, Laser, International 505, and others. A large Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) fleet also races in club-sponsored events. The club organizes weeknight racing from April through September and holds several weekend regattas each year. The club also has an active cruising program. == History == The Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle was founded on January 26, 1945, and was the third yacht club to be formed in Seattle. In the first few years, the club members met in an unused ice house near the ferry terminal in Leschi and the club organized racing on Lake Washington. Racing in the 1940s and 1950s was primarily in the six- and eight-meter classes and in the Star, Flattie (Geary 18), Blanchard Knockabout, Lightning, Mercury, International 110, and International 14 classes. By 1948, the club had built a race tower and docks at Leschi on land leased from the Seattle Parks Department. When the marina at Shilshole Bay was completed, club members designed, financed, and built a floating clubhouse that remains moored at the Shilshole marina to support racing on Puget Sound. Many major sailing championships have been held at Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle, including the 1971 Star World Championships and the 1990 Goodwill Games yachting competition.
